Makers, Dreamers, and Designers are heroes too!

I’ve had the privilege of working with Gidi Grinstein, founder of the Reut Institute as an Advisor and Coach for many years.  In addition to this forward-looking social enterprise incubator, he also launched Tikkun Olam Makers (TOM)  a global movement of communities that creates and disseminates affordable solutions to neglected challenges faced by people living with disabilities, the elderly and the poor.

TOM’s approach involves makers around the world who use 3D printing to design and deliver life-saving, and life-changing, devices. When the global pandemic hit, Gidi and his team raced into action and TOM pivoted all operations to co-create and deliver solutions for COVID-19. The TOM web-platform now allows individuals and groups of makers around the world to join into a ‘Maker Army’ that mass-delivers protective gear and other solutions globally.

It’s hard to overstate how inspired I am by the intelligence, heart, courage, endless energy, and dedication of this leader and team.  When we think of the heroes of our time, I count these makers, dreamers, and designers among them!
